Middleton Area Wrestling Club
The Middleton Area Wrestling Club (MAWC) is a group of wrestling parents, friends, and coaches that exists to promote all levels of the sport of wrestling in the community, support the welfare and morale of wrestlers and their families, and raise funds for items not included in the Middleton School District or Booster Club budgets.
The MAWC typically meets once per month during the school year. The meetings and MAWC membership are open to any adult interested in supporting Middleton wrestling.
MAWC meetiongs are held on the second Wednesday of every month when school is in session. Club committees meet at 6:30 in the Middleton High School LMC, and the general meeting begins afterward at 7:00. Please contact one of the club officers below if you are interested in becoming involved.

Executive Board 2009-10
| President One-year term, succeeds the Past-President. The President oversees all of the activities of the MAWC. He sets the agenda for each Club meeting, sends the agenda to the Club members beforehand, and presides over the meetings. He votes on club decisions, uses his experience and knowledge to provide general guidance to other members, and keeps apprised of all club activities. |

| Vice President One-year term, succeeds the President. The Vice President holds many of the same duties as the President. Those duties include, but are not limited to, helping to oversee all Club activities, voting on Club decisions, assisting and guiding other members as needed, keeping apprised of club activities and decisions, and providing input and insight along the way. She assumes the duties of the President whenever the President is unavailable. |

| Secretary Two-year term. The Secretary keeps track of and documents all Club decisions and activities, and communicates them to the members as needed. This includes taking minutes at all Club meetings, e-mailing them to members for approval before the next meeting, and documenting e-mail correspondences that impact Club decisions. He votes on Club decisions, provides input and guidance to other members, and keeps apprised of Club activities. |

| Treasurer Two-year term. The Treasurer oversees all of the financial activities and transactions of the MAWC. She provides monthly financial activity statements to the members, disburses checks and monies for Club purchases and events, and deposits income in the Club bank account. The Treasurer also oversees the MAWC family accounts by assigning dollar values to work towards Club events and fundraisers, crediting the accounts of participants, and disbursing checks when participants redeem their earnings. She votes on Club decisions, provides financial input and recommendations, and determines the financial impact of Club activities and decisions. |

| High School Representative One-year term. The High School Representative acts as a liaison between the MAWC and the high school wrestlers and parents. He also keeps high school wrestlers and parents informed about team events (competitions, practices, meetings, etc.) during the season through e-mail and phone calls, especially when event plans change. He relays messages from coaches to the team and parents when the coaches are unable to do so in person. The High School Representative relays interests and concerns of parents on to the MAWC and high school coaching staff. He also coordinates concession staff for home dual meets and may also help organize staff for hosted tournaments. |

| Middle School Representative One-year term. The Middle School Representative acts as a liaison between the MAWC and the middle school wrestlers and parents. | Youth Representative One-year term. The Youth Representative acts as a liaison between the Lil' Cards wrestlers and parents and the MAWC. He coordinates the Lil' Cards program by working with the Publicity Liaison to promote it in the local media, collecting and keeping track of registrations, communicating with parents and coaches, and organizing awards. He also communicates the interests of the MAWC and Middleton coaches to the Ringers coaches and works with Ringers to develop appropriate practice material. |

| Past President One-year term. The Past President uses her knowledge and experience of MAWC practices, goals, and philosophies to guide and assist other members. She votes on Club decisions, provides insights and opinions on Club activities and actions, and helps other members with their duties to the extent possible. |

| Booster Club Liaison One-year term. The Booster Club Liaison represents and communicates the interests of the MAWC to the Cardinal Booster Club. He keeps apprised of activities and actions that affect the MAWC by attending all Booster Club meetings. He keeps the MAWC informed of these actions by reporting them at MAWC meetings. Although not a voting member, he uses his experience and knowledge to guide MAWC decisions that affect the Booster Club. |

| Member-at-Large One-year term. The Member-at-Large provides assistance and guidance to other members with their duties. She votes on Club decisions, provides opinions and insight at meetings, and stays current with Club actions. It is preferred, but not required, that the Member-at-Large be someone with prior experience in the MAWC. |

| Alumni Liaison One-year term. The Alumni Liaison communicates the interests of the MAWC to the Middleton Wrestling alumni, and vice versa. He coordinates activities run by the alumni—such as the annual Middleton Takedown Tournament—and keeps the alumni informed about them. He oversees the Middleton Wrestling Alumni Fund and bank account, which is separate from the finances of the MAWC. It is required that the Alumni Liaison be a former Middleton wrestler. |

Special Interest Coordinators 2009-10
| Fundraising Coordinator One-year term. The Fundraising Coordinator oversees all of the fundraising activities of the MAWC. She makes recommendations to the Club about current and potential fundraisers, organizes them, keeps the Middleton wrestling community informed of them, turns earnings over to the Treasurer, and solicits help from others as needed. |

| Clothing Coordinator One-year term. The Clothing Coordinator handles clothing needs at all Middleton wrestling levels. He communicates with the coaches to determine their team's needs, researches options to meet them, gets quotes from potential suppliers, reports findings back to the coaches and MAWC, and makes recommendations as to the best options. He orders clothing approved for purchase by the Club and communicates with the supplier to ensure it is received on time. During the seasonal team clothing purchase period, he collects clothing orders and money from wrestlers and gives them to the supplier. |

| Raffle Coordinator One-year term. The Raffle Coordinator organizes, conducts, and oversees all raffles at Middleton wrestling events. He sells raffle tickets, determines and distributes prizes, turns earnings over to the Treasurer, and solicits help from others as needed. |

| Social Coordinator One-year term. The Social Coordinator organizes social events (team parties, outings, trips, etc.) for wrestlers, parents, and coaches at all levels, both in- and out-of-season. She communicates with parents, wrestlers, and coaches to set dates, times, locations, and agendas of social events. She reserves facilities for the events and solicits help from wrestlers and parents as needed. She keeps apprised of the schedules of each team to determine ideal times and locations for the events. |

| Post-Season Coordinator One-year term. The Post-Season Coordinator informs wrestlers and parents at all levels of available wrestling opportunities (tournaments, camps, clinics, etc.) in the off-season. He regularly checks for these opportunities on the Web and in literature and passes the information on to the wrestlers and parents. When several wrestlers plan on attending an event, he helps organize transportation to it. After coaches establish locations and dates of team camps and clinics, he promotes them to the teams. |

| Tournament Coordinator One-year term. The Tournament Coordinator organizes staff for all Middleton-hosted tournaments. She keeps apprised of the scope and date of each tournament, determines staffing needs, and solicits help from wrestlers and parents to meet those needs. She assigns workers to positions and shifts, sees that they are trained as needed, and works with the Tournament Concessions Coordinator to staff and run tournament concessions. For each tournament, she creates a list of workers and shifts worked, collects all money raised, and turns over both to the Treasurer. Prior experience with working at Middleton wrestling tournaments is strongly preferred. |

| Web Site Administrator One-year term. The Web Site Administrator oversees the Middleton Wrestling Web site. He posts new announcements, documents, and media, and updates existing content. He communicates with the Club to come up with ideas for site content, features, and improvements, and develops these as needed. |

| Photographer (High School) One-year term. The Photographer takes photographs with the team camera at all high school wrestling competitions. She obtains the camera from the Web Site Administrator prior to competition, takes photographs of the matches throughout the event, and returns the camera to the Web Site Administrator afterward. |

| Publicity Liaison One-year term. The Publicity Liaison circulates information about Middleton wrestling and MAWC events to the public through the media. This includes information about Middleton-hosted camps, clinics, tournaments, and fundraisers. He works with the Club and coaches to create advertisements, fliers, and brochures and sends them to media contacts, Web sites, and other teams. |

| Tournament Concessions Coordinator One-year term. The Tournament Concessions Coordinator oversees the concessions at all Middleton-hosted tournaments. She determines the amount of food needed for each tournament, purchases it with Club funds from vendors and grocery stores, and organizes any necessary preparation. She works with the Tournament Coordinator to determine concessions staffing needs, solicits help and food donations from parents and wrestlers, oversees setup and teardown, and provides any necessary training to concessions staff. For each tournament, she creates a list of concession workers and shifts worked, collects all money raised, and turns over both to the Tournament Coordinator. |

| WI Wrestling Federation Liaison The Wisconsin Wrestling Federation Liaison represents and communicates the interests of the MAWC to the Wisconsin Wrestling Federation (WWF) at their meetings. He stays apprised of WWF activities and decisions that affect the interests of the Club, reports them to the Club for discussion, provides guidance on relevant Club decisions, and reports these back to the WWF. |
